EAT: Eat like a local and get your fix of fish and chips and The Boat House. For something with a little more ambiance try The Birds Cafe (yes that's a throwback to Hitchcock's movie The Birds...which was filmed near by.) The Hitchcock inspired cafe serves up lunch and dinner with a view of Bodega Harbor. For a fancy night out check out The Duck Club inside the Bodega Bay Lodge.
PLAY: Check out the local surf shop Bodega Bay Surf Shack for clothing, sandals and other surf inspired things. Stock up on saltwater taffy at Candy and Kites where you can visit their saltwater taffy bar and pick your favorite flavors to mix into your own take home bag. Candy and Kites also carries a really interesting assortment of kites for beginners to experts alike. A great place to bring your little ones to pick out saltwater taffy flavors, toys and books. January through May you can do some whale watching as grey and blue whales migrate along the Pacific Coast. A perfect viewing spot is the overlook at Bodega Head. Bring a picnic, a sweater and your hiking shoes. Grab a seat and taste some wine at Gourmet Au Bay's waterside wine bar. Try "wine surfing" while you're here...you pick three wines from the daily list, they put them on a surf board and you enjoy the water view on their private deck! Rent a kayak or a paddle board and view the bay up close or book a kayak tour of the bay with Bodega Bay Kayak.
